Always check and change your oil regularly, especially during the winter because your engine has to work extra hard in cold temperatures.  Make sure your oil is the correct viscosity as per your owner’s manual. You might not mind getting a little thicker around the holidays, but your oil sure does. Oil gets dirty, and if the oil level drops contaminants can make it even thicker. Combined with cold temperatures, not only will it be hard on your engine, your vehicle might not even start. It would be like replacing the water in a fountain with pudding.  When it’s -40 outside you can’t afford to have your engine let you down.  So remember, your vehicle doesn’t like pudding as much as you do.
